Quick Backstory: here's some bulletpoints for now

→Carol was born to Franklin & Rosaline Weston. Both involved in the 'criminal underworld', Rosa is known as "Bloody Rosa" and is considered a myth/legend among gangs around the world. Frank was more in the intelligence sector, acting as a wheelman and providing briefing/tech for Rosa. The Westons, as they were, did not exist normally, and had lived under the "Thomassons" last name for a while.

→As humans became less lucrative for Rosa and she looked to make enough to provide for her husband and daughter, she learned of the unknown, learning more of creatures from the Demon World taking a more humanoid form to form contracts and make deals with humans, be it weak-willed ones or gangsters. It naturally came with gangsters wanting to strike back when things went awry, leading to Rosa being one of the first demon killers in the world.

→Carol was sharp as a child and figured her parents were super spies or something of the like. She was 12 when she found out that they were assassins. Rather than be afraid, she was more curious about it than anything and... really, thought it meant she had really good and cool parents. They loved her and they flew around and had adventures while she was at school! She wanted to do that too, though Rosa and Frank were adamant that she think of a different career.

→Later that year, she had a vivid nightmare. She was being held down and something was going to eat her heart (as she says) but her mom stepped in to save her. When she woke up the next morning, she found out that Franklin had died. She was inconsolable for a couple weeks.

→Months later, after she turned 13, as Rosa had gone on a mission, Carol was left at a friend's house. Despite being under surveillance, the friend's house was burgled in the middle of the night. Or rather, was close to it. As her friend and her friend's family slept, Rosa caught what was happening, and very carefully, very quietly, formed a plan and carried out her very first assassination. Which was eventually picked up when she knocked on the car door of her 'surveillance' friends, and had to explain everything. Despite their best attempts, Carol was in.

→With her keen instincts, quick reflexes and expert marksmanship, Carol grew into her new role. Occasionally teaming with others, she'd confuse marks by acting sweet and kind, either leaving them open to an attack from her, or from a different hitman. With her disposition, she quickly gained the name "Sweet Caroline" from her peers. She's not a fan.

→As time went on and more and more of the hired hands grew more accustomed to stalking demons and fighting those who had made contracts, Carol soon started down the same route. After all, a demon killed her father, and this was what she had wanted to do from the first place. She gained slight infamy for taking on a considerable amount of demon killing jobs in a row, but was forced to slow down by Rosa. Rosa would let her know that everything she had done as a contract killer had been to make sure Carol had the best growing up, and she didn't want to see her die.

→As the underworld bridges continued to grow, Carol began learning more and more about the demon world itself. She'd never been, but from her understanding, the further down you went and the closer to Hell you got, the less restrained demons would be. Most of the demons she had killed and had met along the way were from the 'surface level'. Close enough to human, but still for the most part, rotten to the core. It's around this time as well that she learned of the different types of demons, and slowly started letting her guard down.

→That would be until later on, as she was 18, a routine job had gone wrong and Carol was left for dead. The high ranking demon as before had finally come to take Carol's life, believing that would be the first step towards getting revenge on the humans-- more importantly, revenge upon Bloody Rosa. However, things didn't turn out how he had originally thought (see Spoilers below) and instead, Rosa had disappeared. The only rumor she had was that in exchange for her safety, Rosa had made a deal to be exiled to the demon world for good.

→With nothing left, Carol's anger had gotten out of control momentarily, believing her mother was dead. That was until she got a singed care package. Explaining that Rosa was still alive, and offering Carol a chance to see her again... provided, she lives with the demons themselves for a while. Leading her to, of her own will, enroll at the University of Dante-- a secret, front of a university for demons preparing to live among humans, created in the city.

→Final point: Carol's enrolled and lived at the University starting from age 18 to 22. Despite living on campus and going to school, she continues to work as a contract and demon killer. Despite living around demons, she's issued a truce on campus, and simply states that she'd never hurt anyone living there. For the most part while she is known as a terror on campus, she's integrated herself well to anyone who can stand to be around her.

→Spoilers she doesn't know yet: She was targeted as a young age as a way to send a warning to Rosa, and try to coerce her into making a contract with them. Before Rosa could fully interject, Franklin gave his life as a deal for Carol and Rosa's. Done so he could protect his family and try to get them to lead a normal life. The second time Carol was injured, Rosa made a contract to kill on behalf of the demons. Rosa is still alive, and despite how Carol thinks she'd be on the run, fell in love with and married a demon. She is, in fact, living comfortably. Finding out about this would hurt Carol immensely, undermining her own goals and driving her hatred of demons further and pushing her even further away from her family.

Personality: Over the course of her life, Carol had learned two modes. The mode where she acts as a normal every day girl, and the mode where she's a calculated killer. She was a lot more bubbly and purehearted when she was younger, a sight that she can still on occasion bring out. However as time went on and she dealt with more and more, she began to get a lot colder, more irritated and... more ruthless.

She speaks politely to those who she knows has a higher standing than her. Superiors at work, and some who hire her. Other than that, she's a lot more crass. Not the type to use a swear every other sentence, but one who would certainly, indeed, say "fuck" in casual conversation. To those on her same level or lower, she treats with a hell of a lot less respect. Moreso some demons/monsters/supernatural beings. She can start off neutral towards them and very quickly decide whether or not she likes them or hates them. It's not always guaranteed if someone is "nice", but she considers herself a decent enough judge of character.

While she can be motivated by money, she's not overtly greedy. To her, money is just another tool she can use to obtain her goals, mainly to carry out her family's wishes and get out of the business for good-- that is, after also saving her mom. Still, she knows what she's worth and she'd walk out if something wasn't worth her time or energy, even for an exorbitant price.

Still, when it comes to loyalty, Carol cherishes it. She's loyal to those who are loyal to her, and is willing to fight on behalf of anyone that she deems worthy of it. She's made friends with a lesser demon who she saw being pushed around and fought back hard, and despite insulting him a lot, she's come to care about his safety quite a bit. Kindness on her behalf is rare, but she's okay with it. Kind's different than "good" in the end, and she has no illusions that she'll ever be considered a good person, loyal or not.

Carol also holds her family members to a very high regard-- she has more good memories of her dad than of her mom, but she still loves them to death. So much that she's plotting revenge and still trying to bring her mom back from the demon world. Something, anything to get her back.

She's studious though, for as much of a delinquent as she tends to be at school. Part of what she's doing still relies on her graduating, and she's genuinely fascinated by lore. Plus, learning more about weaponry and how to best utilize it. Studious doesn't necessarily mean she's super smart though. More that she retains facts somewhat well, and can use her expertise to good use when she has to.

Romantic love is a foreign concept to Carol. She's genuinely the type to respond to a confession by interrogating them or giving them a hard time. She understands physical attraction well enough, and yes, knows how to take care of that when she can, but actual legitimate romantic love just escapes her. Despite this, she does presently find herself in a relationship with a demon named Eve. They're just too annoying and won't leave her alone, so. Might as well?
